MORTDALE has a very active school-wide fitness program. Kindergarten to Year 2 students participate in dance and fitness twice a week and sport once a week whilst 3-6 participate in a 4 day a week fitness program which incorporates games, dance, skipping, PD/health lessons and fitness training for carnivals and sport. Friday sport for Years 3 to 6 involves all students rotating through a variety of sports, including softball, volleyball, soccer, hockey and T-ball. House teams compete with one another to be the Champion House Team.

All students also participate in a term-long gymnastics program conducted by an external professional gymnastics training company.

Each year the school organises school swimming, cross country and athletics carnivals. Students are encouraged to try out for District teams such as soccer and rugby league.

Every year non-swimmers or students who require additional swimming practice have the opportunity to attend an intensive 10 day swimming program at a local swimming centre.

Personal Development/Health

During Term 1 students participate in an Anti-bullying Program. In Term 2 they learn about Drug Education and in Term 3 they participate in the Child Protection Program. During Term 4 the school is visited by the Healthy Harold van.
